Today’s program: speaker Marcos Knoblauch on “Colombia after the Peace Accords”
Learn from Christian Peacemaker Teams member [CPTer] Marcos Knoblauch about the challenges that are faced by persons who have been displaced from their homes by the violence and threats that continue even after the signing of the Colombian Peace Accords more than a year ago.
Colombia leads the world in deaths of human rights workers, many of whom are supporting programs to help these displaced persons.
Marcos will tell stories about specific persons who CPTers accompany and the kinds of challenges that they face. Four years ago, Marcos had been teaching Physics at a university in Argentina where he had been born. He has been a full-time CPTer on the Colombia team for almost three years.
Please note: this meeting of Central Ohioans for Peace is being held on a different day of the month than the traditional “second-Monday-and-fourth-Monday” meeting schedule.
