Friday, February 8, 7-9pm, Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Ave.

Serious love songs, a humorous trivia quiz, home-baked refreshments, and some fun surprises will highlight a Valentine concert by Bill Cohen at the Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Ave. The show will run from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, February 8.

With guitar and piano, Bill will sing favorites made famous by John Denver, the Everly Brothers, Sam Cooke, Bette Midler, James Taylor, the Eagles, the Shirelles, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, and others. Musical back-up from some of Bill’s friends will add some special sparkle: Ann Fisher on flute, Brian Szuch on lead guitar, David Maywhoor on drums, and the all-girl vocal trio, the Harmonettes.

While the songs will reflect the ecstasy, warmth, heartache, and pain that love can bring, there will be a lighter side too, as Bill will challenge the audience with trivia questions about famous and infamous couples and love songs throughout the decades.

A $10 donation per person will be requested at the door; proceeds will go to help produce the upcoming Central Ohio Folk Festival.

This will be the tenth year for this special Valentine concert.
