This month’s program: “Growing Up in and Out of Islam”

“I grew up a Muslim, as my parents did before me and as their parents did before them. The story of my life takes me through growing up in the world of post-9/11 America and frequently being bullied.”

“I never felt like I belonged as either an Arab/Muslim or an American. I just desperately wanted to fit in with anyone who would take me; I was rejected at every turn.”

“While I grew up in the faith of Islam, by the time I turned 18, through the use my brain, some apathy, and a touch of humor here and there along the way, I finally ‘grew up’ and out of Islam.”

Malick A. is a secular activist who is a part of different organizations, such as ExMuslims of North America and the Humanist Community of Central Ohio, who is a committee member of Omnipresent Atheists.

Join us at 11:30am for pizza; the meeting begins at 12noon.
