Sunday, October 22, 4-6pm, First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St.
On Sunday, October 22, at 4pm, join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers [CIW] and allies for a moving interfaith service at First Congregational Church to prayerfully enjoin Wendy’s to stand with farmworker women in ending sexual violence in the fields. Representatives from the CIW’s formidable Women’s Group will be in attendance at this service, sharing their experiences and uniting in the struggle for justice with Columbus-based faith communities.
This service is co-hosted by:
• First Unitarian Universalist of Columbus
• Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center
• St. Philip’s Episcopal Church
• Church of the Savior [United Methodist], Westerville, Ohio
• North Columbus Friends Meeting
On the next day, Monday, October 23, participants are invited to join CIW farmworker women and their Columbus allies for a major public witness at Wendy’s Dublin headquarters, 1 Dave Thomas Blvd., Dublin, Ohio.
Over the weekend, join us as clergy and local congregations come together — in ritual and in action — to strengthen our commitment to support farmworker women in their struggle to build an agricultural industry that is free of sexual violence.
