Saturday, August 24, 7-9pm, Just North United Church of Christ, 2040 W. Henderson Rd. [This event will begin with a 5pm picnic.]

Just North United Church of Christ and Temple Israel invite you to an interfaith celebration in support of the Mauritanian community. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to legal defense, bonds, and direct support to Mauritanians in Columbus who are impacted by the current deportation crisis.

The Global Slavery Index reports that Mauritania has the highest proportion of people in slavery of any country in the world and that Columbus has the largest population of Mauritanians of any city in the United States.

The concert will open with performances by the Ghanaian Youth Choir, the young men’s a capella quintet Sojourners, and the duo Starlit Ways.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $40 per family, and may be purchased on-line.

If you buy your ticket on-line ahead of time, your receipt will be e-mailed to you. The e-mailed receipt is in fact your ticket. Show it at the door as proof of purchase for admission. Bring a paper copy or show your phone’s e-mail screen at the door to redeem your ticket. The Order Number identifies your unique transaction.
