William Oxley Thompson Memorial Statue, 161 Oval Dr, OSU campus
HostedPlease join us for central Ohio's 2ND ANNUAL BICYCLE DAY CELEBRATION! On this day, we will consider how Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) has altered the perspective of millions, unfolding possibilities of human consciousness. OH, AND WE'RE RIDING OUR BIKES (so please bring one).

One year ago, we gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the very first voluntary LSD experience of famed chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann. This April, we are reuniting to commemorate the fateful day in 1943 when Dr. Hofmann rode his bike home from the laboratory while in a rare state of mind.

You know what to do!

4:19 PM - rally near the Thompson statue on the Oval in support of Ross Ulbricht

5:00 PM - bike ride led by the magnificent Dr. Brian Pace, co-founder of Mind Manifest Midwest

6:00 PM - riders and non-riders will convene for the afterparty at Kafe Kerouac: 2250 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43201. Dr. Pace, an Evolutionary Ecologist, will provide background on the ethnomycology of ergot - the fungus from which Dr. Hofmann derived LSD.

7:00 PM - we will hear from Dr. Nese Devenot. Dr. Devenot is currently faculty in the Bioethics Department at Case Western Reserve University where she teaches courses on Medical Humanities and Literature and Culture. She has written extensively about psychedelics and culture as a longtime champion of revivifying psychedelic studies as an interdisciplinary project.

8:00 PM - we will open the mic for psychedelic storytelling!

9:00 PM - The Phantom Reality will activate our senses with a guided meditation. This group is connecting the conscious community through multi-sensory experiences which root and awaken the soul. Their approach aims to spread awareness of self-mastery in the body, mind, and spirit through radical entertainment and mindful education.

10:00 PM - Columbus-based entertainment group it's (i) will bless our ears with their music.

All money raised on Bicycle Day will support SSDP at OSU, Mind Manifest Midwest, Dr. Devenot, and the artists contributing to the event. We strongly encourage guests to purchase pre-registration tickets for $10 by following the EventBrite link. However, we DO NOT require guests to make a donation.

Additionally, we DO NOT require guests to stay for the entirety of the event. Everyone is free to come and go as they are able, and engage in whichever parts of our programming they find interesting. This event is for EVERYONE. by Students for Sensible Drug Policy Ohio State and Mind Manifest Midwest
