Red fist against black background

Sunday, August 27, 1:30-3:30pm
OSU campus, North Oval mall, Columbus

In the wake of Charlottesville, the fascist "alt-right" has announced their intentions to organize another violent rally in Berkeley, California on August 27. Over eighty Berkeley community organizations have issued a statement asking for supporters to organize solidarity actions against right-wing hate and violence across the country to coincide with their own counter-protests.

In solidarity with Berkeley and all people facing the violence of the far-right, Columbus United Against Hate, an ad hoc working group of community residents and students, is calling for a rally on August 27.

Since far-right groups are targeting university campuses for recruitment, we will be hosting the rally on OSU's campus. We will send a clear message that Ohio State and Columbus communities reject right-wing violence and hate and that we will not tolerate it on our campus.

We welcome all members of the Columbus community who reject racism and bigotry to join us.

PARKING INFORMATION: I know a lot of you are concerned about parking near campus. Since it is a Sunday, meters/ residential parking is FREE. Meters and residential parking are located east of High Street, across from campus. Since there is a lot of construction happening on High, we recommend you try parking on Chittenden, 12th, 13th, or 14th at a meter or street parking and walking from there to the Oval. There are meters on 15th/ north of 15th but construction has been getting in the way of parking there. The Oval is accessible across from 15th Ave.

If you want to avoid driving altogether, we recommend you go to the COTA website (http://www.cota.com/) and enter your address with The Ohio Union as the destination. The Ohio Union is Southeast of the Oval. COTA line #2 should be the one to drop you off there. If you have any other concerns about parking please let us know! Thanks everyone !
