Colorful toys in the background and words in script in front Gayme Night

GAYMERS UNITE! Kingmakers and the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization (Bravo) will be teaming up every third Wednesday of the month for Gayme Night! 18% of the proceeds from the evening will be donated directly to Bravo!

BRAVO works to eliminate violence perpetrated on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identification, domestic violence, and sexual assault through prevention, education, advocacy, violence documentation, and survivor services, both within and on behalf of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender communities. Everyone welcome! Learn more at

ABOUT KINGMAKERS: Kingmakers is an arts and entertainment cafe. Not quite a bar, not a board game store, not a coffee shop, but something that mixes all of those elements—and a bit more. There is a wide and wonderful world of board games out there! Kingmakers is a social experience designed to introduce that world to people who may not yet know it exists, and keep fueling the interest of those who are familiar with the thrill of board games. Our Library and our Board Game Sommeliers are at the core of the Kingmakers experience. Kingmakers, 17 Buttles Avenue.

Here’s how we play at Kingmakers:

LIBRARY FEE -- A $5 per player Library Fee allows us to maintain and grow our Library. It is a flat, per person charge that is added to your tab and allows you to enjoy as many titles for as long as you want during that visit. We kindly ask that you enjoy our selection of games - and not bring in outside titles - while you are here. We have carefully curated an ever-evolving library of games that we feel fits the experience of a visit to Kingmakers. If we do not have a game that you would like to play here, please suggest it to any of our Board Game Sommeliers and we’ll strive to include it.

PUT IT ON YOUR TAB -- They say cash is king, but we couldn’t disagree more. We find that cash is difficult to manage and secure; by opening a tab, we can keep your purchases, as well as your Library Fee, in an organized format that allows for one simple payment transaction during your stay. Open a tab, then it’s all fun and games from there!

At this time we are not able to take reservations. Complete parties will be seated on a first come, first serve basis. If there is a wait for a table, our team will work very hard to have your party enjoying a game as soon as possible! We make an exception for teams and organizations during Weekday Happy Hour and for private events outside regular business hours. To learn more, visit our events page. All ages are welcome! We ID anyone who appears to be under 40 and ask that all minors be accompanied by an adult.

We have hundreds of games - please visit our Library to learn more! There is a wide range in skill level, time required to play, type of play, and party size to fit any group. Our Board Game Sommeliers can give suggestions on what your group might enjoy and guide you through game set up, rules, and play.

Our Sommeliers are board game aficionados, connoisseurs, and instructors. They are available to help guests with recommendations for play, explain rules, and offer guidance. Every Sommelier needs to be able to teach 30 games to work here. Many know 100 or more games! We’re always looking for great people to join our team.

We kindly ask that you enjoy our menu - and not bring in outside food or drink - while you are here. View our menu at Columbus and Indianapolis.

We gladly accept and appreciate donations of complete and clean tabletop board games. Thank you for thinking of us!
