Joe Motil, former Columbus City Council candidate and longtime advocate of fairness and opportunity for all people states that, “It is time for Mayor Ginther to ask for the resignation of Public Service Director Jennifer Gallagher.”
Motil says, “Today’s Columbus Dispatch front page story titled, “State panel will review contract complaint” Columbus forwards Little Turtle conflict of interest complaint to Ohio Ethics Commission adds further evidence to my Ethics complaint to the city of Columbus and Ohio Ethics Commission that a ruling by the OEC on my complaint will result in a clear violation of R.C. 2921.42(A)(1) along with the violations of an OEC’s Advisory Opinion (see attached) that was sent to Ms. Gallagher as a result of her request on April 26, 2016.”
Motil continues that, “ As someone with 40 years in the commercial construction industry, I have firsthand knowledge and an understanding of how, why and who are involved with submitting bid contracts. The fact that Ms. Gallagher was a former Traffic Engineer for the Franklin County Engineers Office and co-deputy director and transportation engineer for ODOT, she clearly understands the role and job duties that her husband John Gallagher performed on the Little Turtle Roadway Project and its bid contract to the Public Service Department.”
Motil concludes that, “This is just one part of the ongoing unethical, underhandedness and alleged corrupt activities that have been connected to several years of creating this road project. The never-ending ties to this scheme are comparable to that of past shady dealings like the Redflex and Centerplate scandals with some of the same players. And all for the sole benefit of a favored hefty campaign contributing City Hall developer to build on the mound along with the political arm-twisting of his lobbyist former Mayor Michael Coleman. This roadway project warrants a full investigation by the Ohio Attorney General's office and/or in conjunction with the FBI.”
