Words Poor People's Campaign and silhouette of people waving flags and fists in air

Wednesday, February 13, 12:30 PM
Join us advocating full restoration and expansion of the Voting Rights Act, an end to racist and partisan gerrymandering, equal treatment for people with disabilities, ending racist mass incarceration and application of the death penalty, protection from the poisons of pipelines, coal ash ponds, wood pellet factories, and corporate livestock farms that pollute the air and water of their neighbors, raising the minimum wage to a Living Wage, and the expansion of Medicaid in every state and the protection of Medicare and single-payer universal health care for all.  Ohio will join with states around the country and Washington DC to put our legislatures on notice. We won’t be silent in the face of racist gerrymandering, restrictive voting regulations, inadequate wages, and soaring healthcare costs that directly impact poor and disenfranchised people in Ohio.  These policies and more are breaking our hearts this Valentine’s Day and we will share our broken hearts with the leaders of the Ohio legislature.   If you can, please bring a paper broken heart/valentine to share with a legislator.  Location:  Thomas Worthington Room in the Ohio Statehouse, 1 Capital Square, Columbus.
