We need your help to Stop Senate Bill 153, an attack on Ohio voters' rights and our democratic process.
While the SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) ACT is debated at the federal level, Ohio lawmakers are considering Senate Bill 153, an attempted copy-cat assault on democracy in our state. Ohio is one of 24 states considering this type of legislation.
Senate Bill 153 is quickly moving through the Ohio legislature and is currently before the Senate General Government Committee. This bill represents yet another calculated effort by politicians to manipulate the system for their own advantage and diminish the voice and power of Ohio voters.
Why this mattersOhio already over-relies on provisional ballots. In November 2024, 34,000 Ohioans had their provisional ballots thrown out. Under Senate Bill 153, the number of provisional ballots cast and rejected would skyrocket.
Access to the ballot and citizen initiatives are the strongest tools Ohioans have to push back on government overreach, hold politicians accountable, and allow us to play a significant role in shaping policy in our communities.
This isn't just another bad bill – it's a direct assault on our fundamental right to vote and participate in democracy.
