Wednesday, May 15, 7-8:30pm, Upper Arlington Public Library [Rm. C], 2800 Tremont Rd.
We will be discussing whether the U.S. should pay reparations for descendants of slavery. Even though the United States ended slavery more than one hundred years ago, the effects of the atrocity still endure. How can the U.S. make up for that? Are reparations part of the answer to this complex issue? Read “The Case for Reparations” by Ta-Nehisi Coates in the June 2014 issue of The Atlantic prior to the discussion.
Hosted by Equal UA.
