Saturday, March 11, 12noon-2pm, Columbus Metropolitan Library [Parsons Branch], 1113 Parsons Ave. [this event will also be occurring via Zoom]

The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called “Going to HCCO” and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.

For March, we’re pleased to welcome back Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Geological Museum at The Ohio State University! Dale returns to HCCO to speak on “Evolution: How it Occurs, and Why the Creationists are Wrong.” It’s been said that nothing in biology makes sense except in light of evolution, yet many people don’t believe in it. This talk explores some of the misconceptions about evolution, for example, it is not a line but a bush (and it is not a chain, so there are no “missing links”). It also discusses some of the arguments that creationists use against it, and shows why they are not correct, from three angles — theological, legal, and scientific. Don’t miss this engaging and informative presentation from a local expert on paleontology and geology!

Going forward, our meetings will be hybrid. You may meet us in-person or attend online.

Please use this Zoom link to join this event.
