Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 14, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California

The SSA Conference is not only our biggest event every year but it is also the only student-focused secular conference in the United States. It’s the time where our students from all across the nation get together to meet each other and be a part of the secular community on a much-larger scale.

Every school year, our students have the opportunity to build their own secular communities on their campuses. It’s not always the easiest of feats but, to many of our student leaders, it has been one of the most rewarding challenges as a student. To celebrate the hard work of student leaders across the country, Secular Student Alliance puts together a national gathering for secular students to meet, grow their leadership skills, and create friendships. We break down the “distance barrier” for an entire weekend and become one big SSA family.

This year’s theme, “Better Together: Creating Meaningful Community,” is designed to help students understand the makings of meaningful community and how to create that on their own campuses. Life-giving community seems like a unicorn sometimes, a thing we’ve heard about but never actually seen or experienced. We will demystify it and give students the tools that they need to make a deep impact on their campuses.
