Come help us Give Peace a Dance!

Every year, Earthdance Ohio hosts the only Earthdance event in Ohio. This peace party is coordinated with other peace events around the world for International Day of Peace. The Ohio event features many dance presentations, including many participatory dances. Some of our main acts include Bellydance Columbus and the Israeli Folk Dancers as well as Ohio Wesleyan University students.

We invite families, students, community members, and all supporters of peace to come and dance with us. We even have a D.J. for open dance times and food to keep you energized. One of the biggest features of the global event will be the synchronized prayer for peace that will be prayed at each event, all across the world, that will connect the dozens of gathered groups.

This year’s theme will be “Global Shift,” as Earthdance International celebrates twenty years of “giving peace a dance” and begins to shift to the next decade.

This event will be held inside the Campus Center [on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus] in the Benes Room and on the sidewalk in front of the Campus Center [called the “Jaywalk”].

Earthdance Ohio is a project of the Leslie Center for Peace and Justice, in the Office of Ohio Wesleyan University Chaplain, and is produced by volunteers from this and other departments on campus, most notably Theatre and Dance, as well as members of the broader community.
