Monday, March 20 to Sunday, March 26, several locations in central Ohio

While we all eat the food that farmworkers harvest, farmworkers experience some of the worst working conditions and lowest wages in the country. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) is transforming that reality through the Fair Food Program (FFP), a unique partnership among farmworkers, growers, and multi-billion-dollar corporate food buyers. Wendy’s has refused to join the FFP and also moved their tomato purchasing to Mexico, where human rights abuses run rampant. That’s why thousands of consumers are boycotting Wendy’s and are bringing that message to their hometown of Columbus, Ohio on March 26. As the national movement prepares to coalesce in Columbus, we are building our local fight against human rights abuses and against corporate ownership of our city. More than ever, we need a movement for human rights that fights for justice for all people. Join us!

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers [CIW] and Ohio Fair Food have been planning a big week of action for human rights, and we really need your help connecting with people about it. We’re inviting a coalition of students, faith groups, and social justice groups to take action together in a large march for all the groups on March 26.

Please let friends know about these exciting plans and ask them to save the dates and offer to help.

Plans include:

March 20-24: Fasting at Wendy’s headquarters and at OSU with letters and delegation visits by allies throughout the week to support the groups that are fasting; please email to sign up for this.

March 24: Vigil terminating the fast — please join us!

March 25: World Cafe gathering for exciting update from CIW — more information to come.

March 26: A march, beginning at 2pm at Goodale Park, 120 W. Goodale St., and ending at the OSU Oval — please join us!
