In the spirit of what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood for, put your self to work for human rights. Cages are disabling and traumatizing environments. As a result, prisoners suffer from low morale. They also suffer from a variety of human rights abuses committed by jail and prison officials such as torture and “extremely poor quality health care.” These forms of violence are state-sanctioned. Therefore, we can’t expect meaningful oversight of Ohio's concentration camps to come from the state. Please bring a friend on MLK day and join us in Meeting Room 3. A free film screening of ‘What I Want My Words To Do To You’ will precede our third letter writing event. This film features a group of womyn, including former members of the Weather Underground that participated in a prisoner writing workshop facilitated by Eve Ensler. After the film, we will send b-day cards and letters to Ciera Johnson and Kimmie Wilson. Both were sentenced to life in prison.
