During my life I have met and interacted with four women who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. There is one common thread between all these four women. They all have lost their only child to accident, disease, terrorist attacks, between their ages of 7 and 10. Another trend I noticed, when I was volunteering at a drug rehabilitation center in India, is that apart from dealing with addiction, about 6 to 7 families out of 10 were also dealing with a loved one's cancer diagnosis.
In this scenario two things were noticed consistently. The person who was diagnosed with cancer was always the one who shared an extremely close bond with the person who was an addict. And second the diagnosis of cancer always came about 4 to 6 years after their loved one was suffering from full blown addiction. I have always wondered if there is a connection here between sense of loss, helplessness or any other negative feelings and dis-ease.
When I juxtapose my above experiences with the scientific hypothesis that everything is energy, energy never dies and that because it is energy it has to vibrate at a certain frequency; there appears to be a connection between the two. Based on this hypothesis then, our thoughts, emotions feelings are also a form of energy and thus is vibrating at a frequency. Negative feelings vibrate at a lower or denser frequency and positive at a higher. You couple all of this with studies done by Louis Hay, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. James Lipton, Greg Braden and a strong case emerges which says that our thoughts, emotions and feelings play a huge role in our destiny, health and general well-being. The idea of "Karma" in the Hindu philosophy supports the above theory as well. It says that "Karma" is not just about your actions but also the kind of thoughts and feelings that a human experiences. With every thought and every feeling we create our own "Karma.
My intention in writing this two-part article is threefold. First is to suggest, to give more importance to your emotional health. If we resolve our negative emotions, and pay attention to our emotional well-being, then probably we would be able to prevent major diagnosis and diseases. Second to put forth 4 healing alternative modalities, and third to introduce certain good practitioners in these areas. After being a Reiki practitioner for 20 years I have narrowed down these four modalities, which in my opinion works the best and sometimes quickest. Hypnotherapy, Shamanic healing, Spirit medium and Reiki.
Hypnotherapy: Eric Nutter, with his proverbial sense of humor describes hypnotherapy as lot more gentle then what Hollywood makes you believe. Eric is trained in both clinical as well as transpersonal hypnotherapy and has his Master certification in Hypnotherapy. The clinical aspect focuses on addiction cessation, weight management, phobias; while transpersonal aspect takes more deeper and closer look into healing by bringing mind, body and spirit together.
According to Eric hypnosis is a method for self-exploration and/or behavioral changes. Those pesky unhealthy patterns that keeps repeating have deep seated answers in our subconscious and hypnotherapy eases us enough to delve into our subconscious to find the root cause. Since we are in total control of the hypnotic state and session we can stop it at any time. Furthermore, we choose our goals and topics that we want to discuss under hypnosis. Through hypnotherapy recovery can happen quickly and new habits can be put in place. Smoking cessation is a classic example of this. With his gentle and kind mannerisms Eric makes you feel comfortable at once. It always helps to be with peaceful and calm people and it certainly becomes an added plus when you embark on a journey of healing and self-exploration.
Shamanic practitioner: Can extreme grief and trauma make us loose a part of our soul? Crystalla says "Yes." Soul retrieval is one of the areas that she specializes in. With 6 years of rigorous training in Shamanic healing techniques and 24 years of experience under her belt she is a potent mix of impactful energy healing and compassion. Crystalla comes from a core belief that working on ourselves to let go of negative forces is enough to collectively bring up the vibrational frequency for humans and therefore the planet. Every technique that she uses in her healing sessions, is first tried on herself. This way she ensures the efficacy and safety of each technique. Crystalla insists on calling herself a "facilitator" and a "Shamanic practitioner."
Humility does not allow her to take credit for the energy that flows through her. Mircea Eliade has described Shamanic healing aptly. He says "Shamans are said to treat ailments/illness by mending the soul. Alleviating traumas affecting the soul/spirit restores the physical body of the individual to balance and wholeness. The shaman also enters supernatural realms or dimensions to obtain solutions to problems afflicting the community. Shamans may visit other worlds/dimensions to bring guidance to misguided souls and to ameliorate illnesses of the human soul caused by foreign elements. The shaman operates primarily within the spiritual world, which in turn affects the human world. The restoration of balance results in the elimination of the ailment."
Part 2 of this article will include the modalities of Spirit medium and Reiki. As mentioned earlier, it is my sincere wish to bring forth different modalities, and through it give you all various options. Let's start a culture of health and together heal and help one person at a time. It's time to shift the paradigm and focus on our emotional health. Here's wishing you all health through peace and grounding.
