Taking us from 9/11 through Donald Trump’s election, this solo performance by accomplished playwright and director Josh Fox traces his journey as an activist through an America in crisis.  Perhaps best known for his award-winning documentary Gasland (2010) and his reporting on the protests at Standing Rock, Fox is one of the country’s most visible opponents of hydraulic fracturing and other practices that threaten our environment. In The Truth Has Changed, Fox shares his perspective from the front lines—from filming the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to working alongside Senator Bernie Sanders—to capture a dizzying landscape of systemic corruption and disinformation in which our elections, climate scientists, and the truth itself are at risk.  Featuring his complex brand of storytelling honed over a career that includes directing five feature films, writing and directing over 25 plays, and a turn in SITI Company, this theatrical production offers both a warning and a way forward for our besieged democracy. Right before its presentation at the Wex, The Truth Has Changed will have its world premiere in NYC on September 11. The same day, a book adapted from the performance will be released by Seven Stories Press. The work will also be developed as a film by HBO scheduled for release in 2019. Facebook invite HERE.
