Thursday, December 27, 8:30am-5pm, Ohio Statehouse

The Ohio General Assembly has added an as-needed session day on Thursday, December 27 to override Governor Kasich’s possible vetoes to H.B. 258, the six-week abortion ban, and S.B. 145, the abortion method ban.

We must show anti-abortion politicians that, holidays or not, we are showing up in full force to stop these dangerous and unconstitutional bans from becoming law.

On Thursday, December 27, the Freedom of Choice Ohio Coalition will gather at the Ohio Statehouse for several all-day actions that will send a clear message to Ohio legislators: Stop The Bans!

Tentative Day of Action Schedule:

8:45 a.m.: Rally and Speak Out around the Statehouse (meet at the corner of State St. and High St.)

9:45 a.m.: Lining the Statehouse hallways

10:00 a.m.: Senate session

12:45 p.m.: Lining the Statehouse hallways

1:00 p.m.: House session

3:00 p.m.: Other actions [TBD] as needed. Please note that the end time is subject to change; come and go as you please!

We recognize that it is the holiday season and that we are asking a lot of you. But the threat of outlawing abortion in Ohio is no longer hypothetical. When tens of thousands of Ohioans’ health care and rights are on the line; we must rise and keep fighting to protect the care that they need and deserve.

Hosted by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, Preterm Cleveland Ohio, Women Have Options - Ohio, Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Tri-State Freethinkers, and NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio.
