Wednesday, January 16, 11:30 am, Community Development for All People, 946 Parsons Ave.
The shutdown of the federal government has entered its twenty-first day, the longest in United States history. As a result, assistance programs on which many rely are in jeopardy.
Today, the Columbus Dispatch ran a column I wrote detailing the harms the shutdown will cause and calling us to action. Please take a moment to read it here and share with your family and friends.
As part of our call to end the shutdown, we will be holding a Town Hall Meeting to discuss it and its harmful impact on central Ohio families. We’ve invited our U.S. Senators and members of Congress to send representatives, and we hope that you can join us. The Town Hall will be held Wednesday, January 16, 11:30am at Community Development for All People [CD4AP], 946 Parsons Ave. You may RSVP here.
Most importantly, I ask you to call Senator Brown (at 888-896-OHIO) and Senator Portman (at 800-205-6446) and ask them to do everything they can to end the shutdown immediately.
In the meantime, CD4AP will work alongside the families in our community to navigate the effects of the shutdown.
Thank you for your continued support of our work.
Sincerely,
Rev. John Edgar
Executive Director
