Session One: Trauma in LGBTQIA+ Youth Communities
• 11-11:30am: Learn from Ms. Sharon Stevens of the Cleveland Metro Schools about how they secured Centers for Disease Control funding for programming that is creating safe and supportive school environments for LGBTQIA+ youth.
• 11:30am-1pm: Join an interactive conversation with Erin Upchurch, Executive Director, and Karen Hewitt, Deputy Director, of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center. The discussion will focus on the impact of oppression and marginalization within LGBTQIA+ communities and how you can help to create and support spaces for healing and resiliency.
Please bring your lunch; light refreshments will be provided.
In conjunction with 2019 “Lunch and Learn” series. The May 16 “Lunch and Learn” program will focus on National Origin; the June 20 “Lunch and Learn” program will focus on Religion.
