Thursday, October 17, 5-7:30pm, Greater Columbus Convention Center [Short North Ballroom], 400 N. High St.
“Activists and Agitators” is an evening fundraiser dedicated to uniting the Columbus community, inspiring attendees to pursue greater social change than we can achieve alone. At “Activists and Agitators,” we’ll foster dialogue, provide practical resources, and educate the community on how to promote empowerment and inclusion.
YWCA Columbus has partnered with mental health and social justice activist Achea Redd for this year’s event: “Activists and Agitators: Find Your Voice, Let it Out.” Achea will help foster dialogue, provide practical resources, and educate the Columbus community on how to create meaningful change in their lives and the lives of others. Attendees will also learn about YWCA Columbus’ programs and how they can help further the organization’s mission. The program will spotlight activists and agitators from the community, including Jeni Britton Bauer from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Fran Frazier from Rise Sister Rise. We’re also excited to announce special performances by Nina West and Gabrielle Solange.
All funds raised at “Activists and Agitators” will go toward two leadership programs: “Leadership for Social Change” and our recently relaunched “Bright Futures” program, which provides leadership, confidence building, and empowerment training to girls in the most under-resourced neighborhoods in Columbus.
