Join us for 100 Years of Ohio Women’s Activism as we kick-off our year-long commemoration of the passing of the 19th Amendment. This amendment gave many women the right to vote by making it illegal to discriminate against voters on the basis of sex. This major victory was only the beginning for women’s activism. You’ll have the chance to learn more about women’s suffrage and activism from the state’s earliest days to now.

We’ll have activities for visitors of all ages.

• Panel discussion [pre-registration required]: 100 Years of Women’s Activism: Modern Activists in Conversation. This program is included with admission but reservations are required due to limited capacity.

• Play Your Part: Talk with representatives from women’s organizations throughout Ohio like League of Ohio Women Voters, Ohio Women’s Alliance, Kaleidoscope Youth Center, Matriots, Kylie Dreamz, and many more.

• Check out archival material [from 10am to 1:30pm] relating to women’s suffrage and activism.

• Learn more about women’s activism of the 1970s with the Bowling Green State University Browne Popular Culture Library.

• Make your own protest banner or sash.

• Speak with a suffragist from 1919 and hear how she plans to win the vote for women.

• Let Us All Speak Our Minds: hear songs and speeches [at 11:30am and at 12:30pm] from the early years of suffrage.

• Check your voter registration status.

• Take a tour [at 11am and at 1pm] to learn more about the diverse experiences of Ohio women through objects on display.
