There is another bill aimed squarely at making things harder for transgender youth in Ohio.

Ohio Representatives Jena Powell and Reggie Stolzfus announced today that they will try to pass a law that would exclude transgender students from participating in sports that match their gender identity.

There is no bill number yet, and we won’t know who will sign on to co-sponsor for awhile.

Please look up and call your Ohio House Representative and ask them to NOT co-sponsor the so-called “Save Women’s Sports Act.”

Everybody should be able to play sports if they want to.

25 states—including Ohio—have athletic inclusion policies that allow transgender youth athletes to compete alongside their peers right now.

It’s important that we affirm the importance of girl’s sports while making sure that all of our children can take advantage of the opportunities that school sports offer. It is wrong to single out transgender students for bullying or discrimination.

Make a call now—or wait until after 5pm to get voicemail—by going here and looking up your representative. Ask them to OPPOSE excluding transgender students from sports.

I know we’ve been asking for a lot of calls lately! It’s because it works. Our community has proven again and again that when people in power hear from us, we can correct the course. And this is especially important for our youth.
