Wednesday, July 22, 12noon-1:30pm, outside of U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s Columbus office, 37 W. Broad St., Ste. 300
Join us on Wednesday, July 22, at 12noon, as we rally at U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s Columbus office to demand that he take immediate action to fix Ohio’s broken unemployment system and pass a stimulus that extends the $600 PUC [Pandemic Unemployment Compensation] supplement to provide the critical support that families need.
Over one million Ohioans have applied for unemployment since the pandemic hit. If Congress doesn’t extend the pandemic unemployment before July 25, families across Ohio will be left without the safety-net necessary to survive a looming economic crisis.
Senator Portman is on the Senate Finance Committee and has the power to extend the expiration date. It’s his job to make sure that we have the resources that the people of our state need to chart a path out of this crisis to an economy that works for all.
Demand that he protect your benefits before it’s too late!
Wearing a mask is required to participate in person. Those with health vulnerabilities may still participate by driving around the building and honking. If you are sick or are experiencing symptoms, please tune into our live stream from home.
To make life better for working people, we need to join together with people from all walks of life to fight for our future and protect the health of our loved ones. Together, we can make this a place where a better future is for all of us. #ALLinforOhio
