The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission’s annual Summit on Sustainability is set to return in October. With a virtual format for 2020, MORPC is now partnering with its peer organization in Atlanta to deliver a summit that includes a wider array of content.

The Summit on Sustainability is MORPC’s annual environmental conference, bringing together hundreds of community leaders to explore and share sustainable ideas, and to celebrate individual and collaborative sustainability efforts with the Regional Sustainability Awards.

The 2020 Summit on Sustainability theme will be “Resilient. Adaptable. Bold.” It will focus on having the willingness and perseverance to put sustainable solutions into action in our everyday lives.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summit is being held virtually over a two-day period:

• October 15, 2020, 12noon-4:45pm

• October 16, 2020, 10am-1pm

MORPC is excited to be building upon the new, on-line format by partnering with the Atlanta Regional Commission on subject matter, best practices, and speakers. Attendees for the plenary and breakout sessions will be participating from both regions and elsewhere.

The Summit will allow for a closer look at best practices — across both the Central Ohio and the Atlanta regions — bringing in top-notch speakers to share stories and ideas related to sustainability and allowing those in each region to learn from one another. Topics will relate to everything from air and water quality to energy, mobility, development, and the current political environment.
