Wednesday, January 27, 7-8pm, this on-line event requires advance registration
Do you identify as trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or question your gender? Do you prefer to identify with other gender non-confirming labels, or to go unlabeled? What does that mean for you? What obstacles have you had to traverse in order to live in your full truth?
Trans people are no stranger to facing and overcoming challenges, and complicating matters are the challenges specific to one’s intersectional identities. How do we honor the experiences we share while at the same time recognizing needs that may be different? How do we welcome all of the voices in our community so that we can support and affirm other trans people in their full truth?
It is our belief at Trans Talks that all transgender identities — non-binary, trans masculine/feminine, two spirit, gender fluid/non-conforming, questioning, bigender, pangender, agender, intersex — are valid under this term. While there exist many commonalities in our community and many similarities within our life stories, each trans person’s experience is subjective, and unique to the individual.
This month we invite our siblings, loved ones, and allies to join us as our speakers share their stories; their personal viewpoints on the exploration of the beautiful complexity of the trans identity.
