As part of the series, “Black Studies Matter,” the OSU Department of African American and African Studies will host a webinar that focuses on Black Music, its role and importance at a time of heightened racial consciousness and pronounced social injustice, and its presence, status, and expression at Ohio State.
Our panel will include Professor Juliet White-Smith, a world-class violist, master teacher, and faculty member in the OSU School of Music; Dr. Mark Lomax, a critically-acclaimed composer, recording artist, and drummer, and lecturer in the OSU School of Music; and Dr. Jason Rawls, a trailblazing hip hop artist and producer, educator, and lecturer in the OSU Department of African American and African Studies.
This discussion will be moderated by Dr. Ryan Skinner, Associate Professor in the OSU School of Music and in the Department of African American and African Studies at The Ohio State University.
