Saturday, April 10, 12noon, Ohio Statehouse and via “Facebook Live”
The Ohio Legislature is proposing bills that are so broad that peacefully protesting would be fair game for felony convictions and exorbitant fines. One such bill (S.B. 33) goes into effect on April 12.
Use this link to learn more information about these bills.
Let’s protest while we still can and shed some light on the detrimental effect that they will have on our First Amendment rights to free speech.
Don your mask, keep your distance, and meet at the McKinley statue in front of the Ohio Statehouse. We’ll have sign-making supplies, spray chalk for cars, speakers, and street theatre. Join us!
Don’t want to leave your home to participate? Use this link to join the statewide “Virtual Story Circle.”
Please RSVP for updates as details are being finalized; the only way to receive updates will be by RSVPing.
Hosted by Stop Ohio Anti-Protest Bills, UUJO: Unitarian Universalist Justice Ohio, and First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus.
