The Ohio Health Modernization Movement invites you to our World AIDS Day Event.
December 1 is World AIDS Day. The Ohio Health Modernization Movement joins the world to commemorate this day on Monday, November 29, at 12noon, with a multi-state virtual event.
Scientific progress is a largely successful story of the AIDS epidemic. Yet, states across the USA have ignored this Scientific progress in their laws and continue to criminalize, often through felonious assault, those living with HIV.
Of the 50 U.S. States, only nine states have modernized or repealed their HIV criminal laws: California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, and Virginia (CDC).
Join moderator Bryan C. Jones and a panel of advocates from other states, including Timothy Jackson [Illinois], Chunnika Hodges [Michigan], and Terl Gleason [North Carolina], and learn how they did it, the challenges they faced, and what Ohio can learn as it embarks on its efforts to modernize unjust HIV laws. Zach McCune from Ohio Health Modernization Movement will be on hand to answer questions about our proposed law.
