Join the Mershon Center American Foreign and Military Policy Cluster Discussion Group virtually on Thursday, February 3 for a discussion with Jim Schnell on the Myanmar Radio-Television headquarters as an illustration of Army control of Myanmar government ministries via isolation and infiltration.

The discussion will be based on Ret. Colonel Jim Schnell’s time serving as a Fulbright Scholar in Myanmar. The presentation will describe first-person observations of how the Myanmar Army has isolated government ministries in the jungles of Myanmar and implemented Army control of such government ministries by posting Army personnel in varied positions within the organizational structures. The larger context within which these government ministries exist will also be addressed.
