Michael Jason Meade will be in court again. Bring your “Justice for Casey” and “Convict Meade” signs and make some noise!
Casey Goodson and Amir Locke were two young Black men who were not only murdered but stolen of their old age and family dreams.
Casey was walking into the home of his loving family. Amir was peacefully asleep in the early morning wrapped in his blanket.
Neither Casey nor Amir committed a crime. Casey and Amir were both legal gun owners practicing their Second Amendment right for the safety of themselves and others.
Casey and Amir were minding their business simply living their lives as young Black men in America.
Michael Jason Meade and Mark Hanneman were two veteran officers in neighborhoods in which they were strangers. Meade and Hanneman share the same background of coming from a predominantly white town with a history of abusing their power while in law enforcement.
Both Meade and Hanneman are products of where they come from, and they were given the power to abuse Black and Brown people without facing consequences thanks to their privilege as both white men and law enforcement officers.
Meade and Hanneman are both being protected by their privilege from their undeniable crimes.
The dismissal of the consistent abuse of power by Meade in Ohio and Hanneman in Minnesota has consequently led to the murders of Casey Goodson Jr. and Amir Locke.
We exist in a system that rewards and protects those who participate in abuse and murder of Black and Brown people.
We stand in Solidarity with those who fight for justice for Amir Locke as we continue to fight for the conviction of Michael Jason Meade and justice for Casey Goodson Jr.
Hosted by Convict Meade.
