Wednesday, June 14, 6-7:30pm, Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St.
The increasing popularity of native plants in the home and conservation landscape is exciting but native seed collection becomes vital, especially with climate change pushing the extremes, an escalation in wild harvesting, many species becoming rare or endangered, and the threat of spreading disease or pests. Considerations for selecting, collecting, and storing native plants, seeds, tips, and tools to make seed collection easier, and best ideas for storing native plant seeds, will be shared, which keep the health and integrity of our local native plant communities.
