Thursday, August 17, 7pm, Columbus Metropolitan Library [Main Branch], 96 S. Grant Ave.

John Stuart Mill wrote On Liberty in 1859 arguing for the importance of free speech. He believed that freedom of expression should be allowed unless it harmed other people. However, there are important discussions to be had regarding where to draw the line. For instance, what if speech is extremely offensive? In this event, we’ll discuss the importance of free speech and its limits, as well as its role on college campuses.
