Tuesday, June 4, 6-8:30pm, Columbus Metropolitan Library [Main Branch], 96 S. Grant Ave.
The greater Columbus community is invited to a special in-person screening of the award-winning documentary “Israelism” followed by a panel discussion with local Jewish and Palestinian leaders. Let us unify and re-energize in our common mission for Palestinian freedom. Palestinian refreshments will be served.
When two young American Jews raised to unconditionally love Israel witness the brutal way that Israel treats Palestinians, their lives take sharp left turns. They join a movement of young American Jews who are battling the old guard to redefine Judaism’s relationship with Israel, revealing a deepening generational divide over modern Jewish identity.
“Israelism” uniquely explores how Jewish attitudes towards Israel are changing dramatically, with massive consequences for the region and for Judaism itself.
“Israelism” is produced by Peabody-winner and six-time Emmy-nominee Daniel J. Chalfen (Loudmouth, Boycott), along with activist and filmmaker Nadia Saah (Mo, Omar, Five Broken Cameras), executive-produced by two-time Emmy-winner Brian A. Kates (Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Succession, The Plot Against America), and edited by Emmy-winner Tony Hale (The Story of Plastic).
This event is free for all to attend. RSVP is required by June 3 by registering at tinyurl.com/Israelismcbus.
Hosted by Jewish Voice for Peace Central Ohio.
