Thursday, October 24, 6:30-8:30pm, The Levee Event Center, 670 Harmon Ave.

We are excited to introduce you to Equality Ohio’s new Executive Director, Dwayne Steward. Advocates and Allies will be his first public event with Equality Ohio, and we’re thrilled to have him leading the way as we honor LGBTQ+ leadership and allyship across our state.

Join us on October 24, 2024 to meet our new leader and to celebrate those who are making Ohio a better place for LGBTQ+ people.

Don’t miss this opportunity to welcome Dwayne Steward and to support Equality Ohio’s vision for an Ohio where all people are welcome, affirmed, and flourishing.

About The Location:

The Levee is in the community of Franklinton, the original settlement of Columbus. The site of The Levee Event Center is historically significant because of the levees that were built there to protect the city amid widespread flooding in the early 1900s (including 1904, 1906, and the Great Flood of 1913).

At the time, the Instructional District Nursing Association, now known as the LifeCare Alliance, was put in charge of relief efforts, including the police and rescue crews. Today, The Levee Event Center continues to support that same mission. Located at and owned by the LifeCare Alliance, all catering and event proceeds go directly to help serve over 30,000 central Ohioans with critical health and nutrition services 365 days a year, including through Project OpenHand Columbus, an extensive intervention program that addresses the causes of malnutrition and hunger associated with HIV/AIDS.
