What have you heard about nuclear energy? The Perry Nuclear Power Plant has glaring concerns about the geological makeup underneath the plant and some of the radioactive emissions into Lake Erie that is making some environmental justice advocates petition the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Attention is needed to raise consciousness about the dangers of the entire bluff that Perry sits on sliding into Lake Erie — sooner rather than later.

• Ohio’s premier geologist, Julie Weatherington-Rice, who has written two reports on the subject, will speak.

• Attorney Terry Lodge will speak about the efforts of the Ohio Nuclear Free Network (ONFN) and Beyond Nuclear (a national anti-nuclear group) to stop the relicensing of Perry for 20 years beyond its 40-year engineered lifespan.

• Pat Marida, Ohio Nuclear Free Network coordinator, will give an overview of the history of Perry.

• Connie Kline, local activist who has opposed Perry since the time it was being licensed, will help answer participant questions.
