The federal government is escalating its outrages, snatching people off the street, sending people to a prison in El Salvador, claiming the power to act outside all laws including the U.S. Constitution.

The U.S. Congress is advancing legislation to strip sanctuary cities and states of rights and protections, as well as legislation to specifically do that to the city of Washington, D.C. 

Meanwhile, numerous states are advancing legislation either for or against the protections provided by sanctuary cities and states -- and in some cases to ban local cooperation with ICE! We recommend checking what is or is not happening in your state or city, and creating the necessary petition at DIYRootsAction to help organize and publicize a local movement.

If you are there on the spot and see plain-clothed people who may or may not be U.S. government kidnappers grabbing someone and shoving them into an unmarked SUV, there are ways you can help, including

1. Point and chant: "The whole world is watching!"
2. Get information: "What's your name? Whom should we contact?"
3. Record video and make it public.
4. Intervene as some brave people have already done. 
5. If there's time, you can organize an emergency protest or blockade as some brave people have already done.
