Aeleka Schortman will help us understand the consequences of defunding USAID.

When Trump and Musk destroyed USAID, they did much more than slaughter poor people by withdrawing life sustaining foreign aid. Aeleka’s dissertation research shows that they literally de-funded the whole world's supply of food and industrial crops by undermining agro-food lending programs around the world. She will explain how and why this is the case, and will solicit feedback from us on how she might improve or fine-tune her message and deliver it to the public.
