Israel is getting ready to annex the occupied Palestinian West Bank. The annexation will be a major step backward on the road to Palestinian freedom and will likely serve as a catalyst for a new Palestinian uprising.

Though annexation has been on the Israeli agenda for years, this time around a 'great opportunity' - in the words of extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich - has presented itself and, from an Israeli point of view, cannot be missed.

We thought it was a fitting day to send out a press release about our Study of the Drop-off Factor in the 2024 Presidential Election, along with the questions that the study raises about the election results. Below is the full press release. We hope you will share this widely. Share it with local, state and national media. Share it online. Share it with your friends, family and networks. It is a thorough and clear presentation of the issue designed to stimulate thought and conversation.

If we don’t talk about these issues, it will be much harder to solve them. The first step is to have the courage to express our doubts.

Drop-off By State & By County

More than fifteen years after the “kids for cash” scandal shocked the nation, it’s back, stirring not just public incredulity but, for some, soul-slicing memories of hell on Earth.

This is thanks to Joe Biden’s decision to grant clemency to Michel Conahan, one of two juvenile-court judges in Luzerne County. Pennsylvania, convicted of accepting cash from private detention centers – as much as $2.8 million over a period of about six years – in exchange for sending them children (my God, as young as 8-years-old) convicted of petty offenses, such as fighting, shoplifting, underage drinking, to serve prolonged sentences in prison.

Mayor Ginther

After nearly one year to the day when a signed agreement was made between City Attorney Zach Klein and the Whitehall City Attorney’s office for Whitehall to investigate Mayor Ginther’s exparte communication with Judge Stephanie Mingo, Whitehall City Attorney Brad Nicodemus finally disclosed his investigation report.

Mr. Nicodemus, in what many will view as a predictable biased decision, found that “with insufficient probable cause for obstruction of official business and interference with civil rights, neither charge will be filed with the court.”

The logic of his decision is not sound. Ginther obstructed justice and violated the constitutional rights of the parties by contacting the judge. In my opinion, the decision appears to be politically biased in favor of Mayor Ginther. This means the Mayor is free to interfere with any pending case.

ICE arresting someone

The Mayor’s Office has never officially called Columbus a sanctuary city, but unofficially since 2017 conservatives and MAGA have attacked it as such. This was the year of new immigrant friendly policies enacted by the Mayor’s Office, such as ordering Columbus police to never ask anyone whether they are undocumented.

Back then, police were instructed to “don’t ask, don’t tell” – and do not alert ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), unless in response to a court order. No local tax dollars would be used to enforce federal immigration policy either, while services will be offered to all immigrants who are in need.

Amazingly, Time selected a man for this prestigious title that does not make Americans feel proud at home and respected abroad. Man of the Year should be reserved for those whose work and contributions help positively impact the quality of life for others and enhance the image of their country.  Not President-elect Trump!

Donald Trump is a fascist man who insulted Mexicans, attacked refugees, disparaged Muslims, maligned Arabs, defamed women, called a former POW a traitor, insulted Jews, humiliated Gold Star parents whose son was killed in Iraq, and yes, he even mocked a disabled reporter. No other public office holder would have gotten away with it in recent history.

Like everyone around the world, I feel that all I have read about this past year is about the innocent people who were murdered during the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. The news makes me think about all the lives that were cut short and the entire families that have been wiped out.
