Ahmad Al-Akhras is a Columbus resident for almost 40 years.  Dr. Al-Akhras served on many boards and commissions across the USA and the world. He was the founding president of the Ohio Chapter and National Vice Chair of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.  He chaired the City of Columbus Transportation and Pedestrian Commission and served on Columbus Community Relations Commission. He is a founding member of several schools in central Ohio.  He served on the executive committee of the Ohio Conference of the NAACP and the Board of Ohio Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union. He is a past president of the Islamic Foundation of Central Ohio and a board member of the Islamic Society of Greater Columbus.  Dr. Al-Akhras is a graduate of Leadership Columbus, Leadership Ohio and an inductee to the Leadership Columbus Hall of Fame.  He can be reached at alakhras@hotmail.com
