- Tell Congress “No Military Aid to Burma:” Call your Senators and ask them to co-sponsor and support a bipartisan Senate amendment (SA 607) to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2017 that would cut off U.S. military assistance to Burma’s army.
- Call the Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to connect with your state’s senate offices, request to speak with the staffer responsible for foreign policy, tell the staffer or leave a message requesting support for the “Senate Amendment 607 to the NDAA because you ‘OPPOSE’ U.S. military aid to Burma’s army,” making sure to leave your name, address, and a call back number.
- Khatibs (Islamic prayer leaders) and Imams (Islamic religious leaders) address the Rohingya Muslim crisis during Jummah (Friday) prayers: The Burma Task Force USA has developed khutba talking points for Muslim community and religious leaders and activists to reference when addressing the responsibility of Muslims to stand up for justice during this crisis.
- Note: Talking points can easily be adapted to any audience outside the Muslim community.
