A handful of peace and anti-nuke activists held signs and passed out literature outside the Columbus Metropolitan Club Wednesday, April 2 to voice their opposition to Anduril’s proposed Arsenal-1 plant in the Rickenbacker area in Pickaway County near Columbus. Connor Brogan, Arsenal-1 Project Leader was scheduled as a featured speaker at the Metropolitan Club event, titled "Central Ohio Builds BIG!"
The group of activists were protesting Anduril's plant that is slated to produce autonomous drones and ballstic missiles, very deadly weapons, that may or may not end up with nuclear payloads. The state of Ohio is heavily subsidizing the effort, championing their deal with the company as a job creator and using promotional phrases like "Anduril & Ohio: Where Heroes Get Their Hardware." The protesters question what war these devastating weapons are intended for, why taxpayers have no say in how their dollars are spent, and how the 500-acre development will affect the community.
Some signs read: "War bankrupts us," "Stop Anduril," "No endless war," and No killer drones!"
The informational literature is attached below. The Ohio Nuclear Free Network has created an informational flier on Anduril: Anduril at Rickenbaker, ONFN Factsheet.
