At a time when Ohio is facing the challenges of toxic algal blooms, increasing heat, and nearly 200,000 cases of pediatric asthma, President Trump and his allies in Congress are attempting to roll back some of the most critical public health safeguards and environmental protections that have been put in place over the last 50 years. Partnered with the proposed slashing of the US EPA budget, their actions would impact funding for Great Lakes Restoration funding, air quality monitoring, and other EPA programs that keep families safe.  Reductions in crucial funding will disproportionately impact low-income families and those living in the most vulnerable communities, children, the elderly, those who work and play outdoors, and people with underlying health conditions.
