The VisionThe Columbus Women’s Chorus (CWC) is a feminist chorus that celebrates life through the power of music. We perform music created and inspired by the lives and experiences of women from all walks of life.
The MissionThe mission of the Columbus Women’s Chorus is to foster excellence and innovation in the performance and presentation of women’s music and, through our community of voices, to entertain and educate our audiences, enrich and enlighten minds and spirits, encourage societal change, and open hearts to diversity.
PerformancesCWC presents two main programs per year – a fall concert at the end of November, and a spring program in April or May, plus a variety of other performances, including benefits and collaborations with other groups. Chorus members normally rehearse on Mondays, throughout the year at the First Unitarian Universalist Church.
For more details, see the Join Us page.
Fifth SectionWe welcome volunteers to the "fifth section" at any time throughout the year. We sing in four sections: Alto 1, Alto 2, Soprano 1, Soprano 2. Hence, fifth section. Fifth section members–some who sing, some who don't–help us with various tasks, including board service (only 1½ hours per month), which have kept the chorus going since 1989. Please reach out!
