Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) is joined by 20 additional Members of Congress in introducing a resolution Recognizing the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The legislation calls on the U.S. to end its complicity in the genocide, including halting weapons to the Israeli military and supporting international measures of accountability.
This resolution comes at a critical moment. During the supposed ceasefire, the Israeli military has continued to kill Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. We must end the U.S. partnership in this genocide, and hold the Israeli government accountable for its atrocities.
Alongside the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, numerous international, Palestinian, and Israeli human rights organizations have recognized that the State of Israel has committed and continues to commit genocide against the people of Gaza. The U.S. government must end its complicity and support for these atrocities immediately.
