Protestor holding sign

On Saturday evening, on a quiet residential street in Bexley, Ohio, a crowd began gathering along the sidewalk in the cold. Word had spread that the wealthy home owner was hosting a fundraiser for Senator John Husted. Neighbors and other area constituents gathered to protest the Senator’s decision to mingle with donors at a fundraiser while he remains inaccessible to everyday Ohioans. Senator Husted has yet to open a single in-state office and voters cannot get through on his one DC telephone number.

Those who gathered expressed concerns about Senator Husted’s failure to stand up to protect Congress’s power of the purse, his failure to stand up and speak out against Elon's chainsaw massacre of the federal government, his failure to protect Ohio federal workers being fired without cause, his failure to stand up and speak out to save the tens of millions of dollars that Ohio’s medical and research institutions stand to lose from Elon’s grant cuts, his failure to speak out in opposition to the end of Medicaid coverage for telehealth appointments which would be devastating to Ohio’s older and rural citizens, his failure to speak out in defense of Ukraine and President Zelenskyy after President Trump falsely called Zelenskyy a dictator and blamed Ukraine for Putin’s attack.

Although constituents called out for Senator Husted to come out and talk with them, he did not. They continue to urge the Senator to open and staff offices, and schedule public in person town halls.
