THE ORIGINAL AND LONGEST RUNNING BELLYDANCE SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY
Neither Habeeba nor her studio will slow down anytime soon, she said. "I am now looking forward to teaching the daughters and granddaughters of the hundreds of women I taught over the years.”
When she first began to dance professionally, Habeeba quickly gained world renown. Since then, she’s performed all over the U.S. from Puerto Rico to Hawaii, and even appeared on classic national television shows such as The Tonight Show, The Ed Sullivan Show and The Nick Clooney Show. Recently, Habeeba was featured in Anietra Hamper’s book “Secret Columbus, A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure."
“This is not a hobby for me; it's my passion,” Habeeba said. “My passion for what I do drives the studio's success – that, and a careful balance of creativity and business savvy.”
She opened Habeeba's Dance of the Artstm to offer the exclusive classical technique she developed as one of the master instructors in the United States. Having taught bellydance to thousands of women over the years, she is now recognized internationally as a leader in the development of the art form. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dance Hall of Fame. Recently, the Egyptian Academy of Oriental Dance presented
Habeeba with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her lifelong devotion to, and excellence in the instruction and promotion of Oriental Dance.
