The long-running radio show, The DJBC Happy Hour is celebrating a full decade on the Columbus airwaves on WCRS with a special two-hour show, which will air on April 12 and April 19 at 8PM each night.

The DJBC Happy Hour debuted on WCRS-FM on April 18, 2011, and has aired on Monday nights ever since on the low power FM station in Columbus.

This Special Anniversary Show will feature new original material, plus take a look back at some of the show’s best moments, with special retrospectives in homage to the show talking about Ohio State football, and the Columbus community. Those two clip montages will be part of the first hour of the Anniversary Special, which will air on April 12.

“It was hard to cut down my favorite highlights of the show into a ten minute package,” The DJBC Happy Hour Creator, Host, and Producer Bryan Curtiss said. “We are talking about 373 shows over ten years. We can’t cram entirely everything into these segments, but the edited montage will give you a glimpse of what we’ve covered over the years, in regards to the community, and of course we can’t do a show without acknowledging the show’s hometown of Columbus, and the Buckeyes,” Curtiss added.

The second hour, which will air on April 19, will feature a segment on the process of how the show is produced, especially during the Pandemic.

“Producing this show is not an easy process,” Curtiss said. “Now try doing it from the privacy of your own home during a Pandemic, over 40 times. I want to give listeners a ‘Behind the Scenes’ mockumentary-type feel on how this show is produced. Rome was not built in a day, and there is a lot of work to producing a one-hour show most of the time.”

The DJBC Happy Hour has been produced remotely since the WCRS FM Studios were closed in the Spring of 2020 due to COVID-19, and social distancing measures.

The DJBC Happy Hour airs on Monday evenings at 8PM on WCRS FM in Columbus. The DJBC Happy Hour Classic, which are Classic Repeats of The DJBC Happy Hour, which have aired on Sundays at 12PM on WCRS since 2017. The DJBC Happy Hour is on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/thedjbch2o.
